Hip Hop on my mind
En ce moment j'écoute pas mal de Hip Hop 90's... Un hip hop assez fou, delirant, amusant, tout en ayant de très bon samples !
Lorsque j'écoute "Scenario", "Bonita Applebum", "Buggin out", je deviens folle... Et biensur il y a Busta avec son fameux "Yah Yah Yah Yah Yah" ! Et aussi "Get High Tonight"...

Et puis Leaders of the New School, ca va de soi. ODB à ne pas oublier, "Shimmy shimmy ya", "Brooklyn Zoo", "Dirty Dancin'" etc. Dans un autre genre, l'incomtournable Common, plus deep, conscient... Je n'oublie pas non plus Souls of Mischief, Wu Tang Clan, Crooklyn Dodgers ( voir les films de Spike Lee ! ), De La Soul...
Mais je dois avouer que mon groupe phare des 90's reste A tribe Called Quest, constitué de Q-Tip, Phife Dawg et du producteur Ali Shaheed Muhammad et aussi Jarobi White qui a quitté le groupe après la sorti de leur premier album "People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm", 1990. Ce premier album a été un grand succes, et encore aujourd'hui, c'est sur cet album qu'on retrouve "Bonita Applebum", "Can I Kick It?" (qui comporte tout deux plus de 6 samples !), "Mr. Muhammad"... Puis ils sortent "The Low End Theory" un an plus tard, l'un des plus célèbre album Hip Hop, avec des titres comme "Scenario" (feat Leaders of the New School ), "What", "Jazz (We've Got)", "Buggin Out".
En 1993 sort "Midnight Marauders", encore un album célèbre. Trois ans plus tard sort "Beats, Rhymes and Life", suivit en 1998 de "The Love Movement"...
Aucun de leur album est à jeter, ils sont tous bon, avec des samples divers, allant du jazz à la soul - "Inside My Love" by Minnie Riperton pour "Lyrics To Go" - en passant par le Funk - "Stand!" de Sly and the Family Stone pour "Rap Promoter" - sans oublier le Rock - "Rain Day, Dream Away" de Jimi Hendrix pour "Go Ahead in the Rain" - et la Pop - "Walk On The Wild Side" de Lou Reed pour "Can I kick It?".
